NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes live text for Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard through designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the NFL season , following recent talk regarding two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking during those contests were the amount of infractions both committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times meaning they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, who play in London this weekend.

But it was good to see how Denver's QB the rookie was able to have that deficit before direct three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.

Denver have the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending extra defenders but they might plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

At the start of the season, we said on a program how Denver might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year well then did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

New TE their tight end has excelled significantly while recent running back JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He now ranks fifth league-wide in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows that the Broncos represent a squad that wants to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush and maintains in positive down and distances.

It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to throw all over, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.

His assets include his movement, being able to throw on the run, and using different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of composure under pressure and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is very decisive.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes time and makes the opponent to stay on the field extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defence has to cover the field downfield and horizontally. It can be draining.

Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think Payton likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's fun for the coach to have a young quarterback that is kind of like play-dough. The coach can really develop him the way he wants to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach owns a championship and has surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they strong enough to go against an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. All they need to do is maintain this path.

They excel at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and that's precisely what they should do against the New York Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad without a win a game.

Since the league started recording turnovers in 1933, this team are the first team to go without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising considering that the head coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

After this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.

It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
