Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a Los Angeles Vehicle Accident

Vince Zampella, who helped create the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in California he was 55 years old.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The renowned industry figure lost his life when his car crashed and burst into flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, according to.

"This represents an unimaginable loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
